Having offered more fine words than actual relief we insist on the refugees’ departure. Hardship has
struck in such a way that our country folks [namely inhabitants of the canton of Bern] leave the
country, not just by family but in groups and by village and they migrate with no better prospects
than the refugees’ – and without help.
