• The Nineteenth Century, August 1892

  One of the famous writers said The Nineteenth Century: “It [Al-Muqtataf] has existed sixteen years, and has contributed during that period to promote science, literature, and industrial arts, being the object for which it was founded... there can be no doubt that such a magazine as Al-Muqtataf exercises a civilizing as well as an educational influence”

  Dans une interview accordée à la fameuse revue anglaise XIXe siècle, un écrivain célèbre a dit : « [La revue Al-Muqtataf] existe depuis 16 ans, elle a contribué, tout au long de cette période, à la promotion des sciences, des lettres et des arts industriels conformément à son but principal. Sans aucun doute, cette revue possède une influence civilisationnelle et éducationnelle. »

  قال أحد مشاهير الكتّاب في مجلّة القرن التاسع عشر أشهر المجلاّت الإنكليزيّة: "مضى على المقتطف ستة عشر عاماً أفاد في خلالها في ترقية العلوم والآداب والصنائع وذلك هو الغرض الذي أنشىء لأجله ولا شبهةً في أن له يداً في نشر الحضارة والتهذيب"

• The Independent, August 18, 1892

  “Imagine the delight which this monthly assortment of information must bring to a school-teacher, a graduate of the college, but exiled from the world of thought in some ignorant Lebanon village... The magazine often contains discussions, sometimes quite, sharp. At any rate thought is stimulated.”

  « Imaginez le plaisir que cet assortiment d'informations peut engendrer à un instituteur diplômé de l'université mais exilé du monde des intellectuels dans un village libanais ignoré. La revue contient des débats, parfois animés, qui, de toute façon, stimulent la pensée. »

  في مجلّة الاستقلال الأميركيّة: ما أشهى هذه المباحث الشهريّة وأحبّها إلى معلّم تلقّى دروسه في المدرسة الكليّة ثم انقطع عن معاشرة العلماء في قرية من مجاهل لبنان" إلى أن قال "وقلّما يخلو عدد منه من المناظرات وقد يشتدُّ الحجاج فيها بين المناظرين وذلك ينبه الخواطر ويشحذ الأذهان".
